Healthcare Assistant - Cardiology

About the role

The Wellington Hospital is seeking a compassionate and driven Healthcare Assistant to join their Cardiology Ward. The position is permanent, full-time, with 37.5 hours per week, rotating shifts between 8AM – 8:30PM and 8PM – 8:30AM (Monday to Sunday).

Responsibilities

• Support the nursing team in providing day-to-day patient care
• Assist with maintaining a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for patients
• Work closely with cardiologists, surgeons, and the multidisciplinary team to support patients throughout their recovery

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a hospital or acute care setting is essential
• A caring, compassionate, and patient-centred approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

Qualifications

Schedule

Shifts are available between 8AM – 8:30PM and 8PM – 8:30AM (Monday to Sunday), with a rotating schedule including days, nights, and weekends.
