Responsibilities
- Report to the center director and directly supervise the clerk, RN, TEAP specialist, physician, PA/NP, physician and mental health consultant.
- Provide daily management and oversight of all health and wellness center activities and health and wellness staff including subcontracted providers.
- Involves in the center disability program as the medical co-disability coordinator.
- Responsible for all administrative requirements and assuring compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and MTC requirements.
- Plan, coordinate and supervise the administrative and programmatic activities of the department.
- Evaluate staff performance, provide staff training for wellness staff as well as required trainings for new hires and all center staff.
- Develop departmental budget in collaboration with the finance & administration director.
- Monitor and control expenditures and review and recommend changes as needed.
- Review, approve, and submit all payment requests from outside vendors and subcontracted wellness staff to the finance department for payment.
- Develop and implement new and revised standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the wellness department.
- Train and coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with overall center objectives.
- Review and audit all assigned areas regularly, or at least monthly per MTC’s data integrity policy, for contractual compliance.
- Implement a continuous quality improvement program to identify needed improvements and employ mechanisms to improve compliance and assure delivery of quality and effective services to students.
- Manage and conduct coordinated health care for students and implementation of other health related programs, including medical, mental health, and substance abuse services.
- Assure chronic care management of all students with chronic illnesses.
- Assure that clinical services, including medication management are within health staff’ scope of practice and within federal, state, and local regulations and statutes.
- Assure that all staff’ credentials meet DOL requirements for their position and they have a current active license and/or certification required for their position, maintaining a copy of all credentials in the wellness center.
- Prepare and submit required reports within required timeframe.
- Manage the record keeping and reporting of student injuries in the system provided by DOL.
- Provide direction and technical assistance in all required health related programs.
- Provide nursing care for students as needed.
- As required, take after-hour phone calls from non-health staff for students’ medical symptoms not covered under the symptomatic management guidelines (SMGs) or directed calls per the SMG.
- Participates in an on-call rotation as assigned and is available outside of regularly scheduled work hours to provide consultation, guidance, and support for urgent situations.
- Develop and participate in community linkages for health and disability resources.
- Participate in required staff training as outlined in the center’s annual training plan.
- Participate in and/or conduct required DOL and MTC meetings.
- Coordinate the applicant file review process.
- Function as the medical co-disability coordinator for the center.
- Participate in development and revisions of disability related SOPs.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps zero tolerance policy.
- Promote the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Maintain accountability of staff, students and government property and adhere to safety practices.
- Provide regular feedback to staff regarding Career Success Standards procedures and intervention techniques.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted registered nurse license in the state of employment and three years related experience, one of which should be in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience working with youth in a paid or unpaid capacity is preferred.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Pay starts at $83,000 annual salary
