Responsibilities
- Provides students with an approved Chamberlain syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
- Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials as needed.
- Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
- Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
- Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
- Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
- Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
- Unencumbered professional nurse licensure (must also be willing to obtain a license in the state of Illinois if one is not already obtained)
- Compact (multi-state) RN license preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years teaching experience
- Excellent communication skills with high level of initiative and prudent judgment.
- Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
- Exceptional subject matter expertise in the field of instruction with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care
- Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students, and the broader community
Additional Information
Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:
- The expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
- Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
