Health & Wellness Coordinator ($50,482 annually)

About the Role
The Health and Wellness Coordinator oversees the Group Exercise Program and assists with other health and wellness programming at Kroc Center Hawaii. Key responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, evaluating, scheduling, training, problem resolution, customer relations, quality and safety assurance, and developing and implementing recruitment strategies.
Responsibilities
- Direct supervision of the Group Exercise program
- Recruiting, hiring, evaluating, scheduling, training, and mentoring Group Exercise instructors
- Mentoring and providing feedback to Fitness Attendants and Personal Trainers
- Assisting with the coordination of other health and wellness programming
- Assisting in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies
- Assisting in the coordination of revenue-generating activities
- Assisting the membership team with fitness presentations
- Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the fitness floor and locker rooms
- Encouraging member involvement in fitness programs
- Maximizing retention through participation and relationship building
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures for group exercise programs
- Providing excellent customer service to all members and guests
- Collaborating on member retention programs and initiatives
- Filling in for the Health and Wellness Manager when unavailable
- Leading and participating in team meetings
- Managing member integration
- Conducting wellness lectures and outreach activities
- Supervising a team of certified fitness professionals
- Maintaining high membership retention levels
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- One year Group Exercise Instruction
- Two years of management experience or program coordination experience
- Group Exercise Certification required (minimum of one): ACE, ACSM, or AFAA or equivalent training/education
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (acquired within 6 months of hiring)
- Experience in coaching/motivating individuals and groups & leadership skills
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in physical education, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or related field preferred
- Personal Training Certification (Preferred): ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or NASM
Qualifications

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The Health and Wellness Coordinator works one weekend day a week, on the opposite day from the Manager. Most work will be at the Kroc Center Hawaii Facility. Occasional travel is possible, including air travel, driving long distances, night driving, overnight travel, and extended travel of three days or more.
