About the Role

Under the general direction of the Assoc Dir Clinical Services, this position performs program analytics and supports continuous quality improvement efforts for Health and Wellness programs and Division of Student Affairs initiatives. Responsibilities include statistical data collection, analysis, reporting, and visualization; supporting accreditation and compliance activities; and assisting with the evaluation of program effectiveness to inform planning and decision-making across Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health Services (SHS), and other Health & Wellness related programs. The incumbent is the subject matter expert for program evaluation in coordination with the supervisor. In addition, the position contributes to an inclusive and supportive environment by delivering equitable, culturally responsive, and student-centered services that enhance the quality of campus life and support student retention and graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Program Analytics - Develop program analytics for Health and Wellness programs, including data collection/aggregation, analysis, reporting, and qualitative data collection and interpret impact of program initiatives. Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, including statistical analysis, to identify trends and support program planning and decision-making.
  • Quality Improvement/Accreditation - Assist with accreditation processes, including preparation of documentation, tracking requirements, and maintaining compliance materials. Develop and coordinate with clinical and nursing teams to evaluate study proposals for quality improvement, including method/material/data collection development, data analysis, data visualization, and report completion and finalization.
  • Support Division Wide Initiative - Assist with program review processes, including data analysis and preparation of reports and make recommendations based on audit findings, and co-authors program review reports. Coordinate in collaboration with DSA and campus partners on program evaluation and reporting activities. Coordinate with campus partners to create marketing materials, social media posts, and web banners for Health and Wellness (CAPS and SHS) Initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, and special projects to obtain information and report findings/information to supervisor.

Schedule

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week. This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Pay

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources. Hiring Range: $5,797 (Step 1) - $7,649 (Step 15) per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,797 (Step 1) - $8,445 (Step 20) per month.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience required.
  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in health sciences, health care administration, public health, or associate’s in nursing preferred.
  • Master of Public Health or bachelor’s in nursing preferred.
  • Expertise in statistical programming languages preferred.

Skills

The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong understanding of research methods, survey design, program evaluation techniques, and assessment methodology, including experience designing and distributing surveys through platforms such as Qualtrics, Microsoft Forms, Campus Labs, SurveyMonkey, or similar tools.

  • Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to collect, extract, analyze, and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data using statistical and data analysis software such as Python, SPSS, SAS, R, and Excel, as well as qualitative analysis tools.
  • Adept at leveraging analytics embedded within third-party systems such as PnC and Titanium and can independently learn software functions through vendor documentation with limited institution-specific support.
  • Provides expert guidance on data quality, usability, research ethics, and compliance with applicable regulations and standards, including HIPAA and FERPA, while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple assignments, adapting to changing priorities, meeting deadlines, and exercising sound judgment in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled at analyzing complex problems, identifying practical solutions, and making recommendations within established guidelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling preparation, editing, and presentation of clear, accurate reports, correspondence, and documentation for diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with clinical, administrative, and other stakeholders, while working both independently under general direction and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to university policies, procedures, professional standards, and the accurate maintenance of records and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment. This position serves as a Campus Security Authority under the Clery Act and Executive Order 1107. Incumbent is required to promptly report allegations of Clery qualifying crimes that occur within a campus’ Clery geography.
