Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) - FMC Postpartum (Per Diem)

In this position, you will coordinate clerical and reception functions, facilitate communication across the care team, and contribute to a welcoming, efficient, and patient-centered environment. Responsibilities
- Provides customer service to patients, families, and the cross-functional team.
- Facilitates communications - scheduling, coverage of telephones and nurse call systems.
- Maintains patient records, CPOE and unit census records on a daily basis.
- Coordinates admissions, transfers and discharges to the Charge Nurse and appropriate departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School graduation or equivalent.
- Must possess excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate and process information regarding patients.
Desired:
- One (1) year of related experience in a similar setting.
- Completion of a medical terminology course and/or a Health Unit Coordinator course.
Pay
Wage Range: $25.47 - $39.10 per hour plus additional per diem rate. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.
