About the role

The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations within a healthcare unit, ensuring patient care quality and compliance with hospital policies and regulations. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations within the assigned healthcare unit.
  • Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, staff, and external providers.
  • Monitor patient flow and assist in managing patient wait times.
  • Assist in the resolution of patient complaints and concerns.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss unit performance and plan improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 annually.

Schedule

This role is part-time and typically works 20 hours per week.
