Health Unit Coordinator

About the role

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Health Unit Coordinator to join our Emergency Services team on a Full-Time basis. The Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for clerical coordination of the unit.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining files of medical records
• Answering phones and triaging phone calls to professional staff
• Managing supplies and assisting staff in getting their needs met to do their jobs

Qualifications

• Required: High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Preferred Education: Completion of post High School Vocational/Specialized training
• Professional Experience: Previous clerical experience is preferred. Also prefer similar or related experience in a healthcare setting
• Special Requirements: Requires non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence training every two years on a rolling calendar basis

Skills

• Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position. Access email, reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements
• Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills. Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter

Schedule

• Full-Time, .75 FTE (30 hours per week)
• Scheduled Days: Variable Days Between Monday and Friday
• Scheduled Shift: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am
• Holiday Rotation: Every 3rd
