About the role

The Health Unit Coordinator performs a variety of clerical, coordinating, and communication activities to support unit operations. Inpatient Surgery (IPS) is a 17-suite OR performing Open Heart, Cardiothoracic, Neuro, Spine, Orthopedic, Bariatric, Robotic, Vascular, Gynecological, Urogynecologic, and General Surgery procedures. Combinations of inpatient and outpatient procedures are performed on a mainly adult population, averaging 850 procedures monthly. The team embraces a philosophy of respect, compassion, advocacy, and integrity, working collaboratively to create a harmonious, therapeutic, and technologically advanced environment for patients and their families throughout the surgical process.

Schedule

• Part-time, 48 hours per pay period
• 12-hour day shift
• Weekends required

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Prefer Health Unit Coordinator experience or experience in a related field
• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer familiarity preferred
• EHR experience preferred
• Excellent customer service, oral, and written communication skills
