Health Technician

Responsibilities

• Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, medical bed, and other devices
• Aid with patient positioning and imaging procedures
• Respond to emergencies and perform CPR when indicated
• Serve as patient observer when needed
• Transport specimens and support patient care activities
• Maintain imaging department safety, cleanliness, and supplies
• Perform clerical duties, scheduling support, record management, and phone reception
• Enter patient data into computerized systems and support PACS workflows
• Support patients and families with guidance and assistance

Requirements

• CPR/BLS capability
• Safe Patient Handling experience
• Experience with assisting with patient transfers and mobility
• Experience with clerical support and patient record systems
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to retrieve and document information in the Veteran electronic medical record
