Position Overview
Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities. AMS is seeking a detail-oriented and student-centered Health Technician to support the health and safety needs of scholars at the AMS Power Campus in Mesa.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care for students who are injured or ill, including basic first aid and assessment.
- Notify parents/guardians when necessary and document all health office visits.
- Administer medications in accordance with AMS policies and state regulations.
- Maintain secure and compliant storage of all prescription and non-prescription medications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student health records, including immunizations, screenings, and visit logs.
- Create and maintain Arizona Health Records and ensure all documentation is audit-ready.
- Conduct required hearing and vision screenings and submit reports to appropriate state agencies.
- Support compliance tracking, reporting, and preparation for audits.
- Conduct periodic health office audits and analyze trends to support program improvement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized health office environment.
- Monitor inventory of medical supplies and coordinate timely ordering and restocking.
- Serve as a liaison between the school and external health agencies and partners.
- Participate in required campus and network meetings, trainings, and compliance activities.
- Support additional operational needs as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a school-based, pediatric, or clinical setting.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a Title I school environment.
- Experience with health compliance reporting or state health requirements.

About the Role
This is not a remote position. The Health Technician will be based at the AMS Power Campus in Mesa, AZ 85209.
Pay
$15.00–$17.00/hour (DOE)
