About the role

The Health & Safety Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing health and safety programs, policies, and practices across the Southern California footprint. This role reports from any of the operating territories within Southern California (Rosemead, Imperial Beach, Newbury Park, LA, Ventura County).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health & safety training programs and activities to enhance employee competency and safety processes.
  • Implement regulatory compliance programs, investigate new technologies, and provide professional reviews and recommendations for the purchase and safe use of tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Conduct safety compliance audits, inspections, job observations, and safety walkthroughs to identify hazards and deficiencies.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret data related to safety training and performance to measure the effectiveness of existing safety programs.
  • Provide assistance and expertise in incident/claim investigations and claims management, making recommendations to prevent reoccurrences.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in safety/loss control in a related industry or municipal operation.
  • A relevant associate degree, with a bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the occupational safety and health field.
  • Knowledge of Company Risk Management Policies and Procedures.
  • Understanding of water utility operations and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of various functional areas and their roles within the organization.
  • Experience integrating regulatory requirements into training and development of operating unit employees.
  • Familiarity with geographic locations of operating centers and facilities.

Skills

  • Understanding of water utility operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to integrate regulatory requirements into training and development of all operating unit employees.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Working knowledge of the various functional areas of a water utility.

Pay

$67,160 to $112,240 annually

Schedule

Full-time, on-site Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. On-call responsibility.
