Health & Safety Leader
About the role
The H&S Leader role supports the Georgia-Pacific Dixie® Consumer Products Operation facility in Paragould, Arkansas. This role builds partnerships with front-line leadership and collaborates with business partners to develop and mentor the production team relating to H&S. The H&S Leader establishes and optimizes systems and processes to effectively address the facility H&S risk profile.
Responsibilities
- Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture
- Partners with site leadership to influence all team members to embrace and achieve our Path to Zero Safety Strategy consistent with Koch’s Safety Vision
- Partners with site leadership to ensure facility risk profile is reduced through development and implementation of key objectives, strategies targets and measures
- Responsible for all systems and processes that manage H&S risk at the facility (Compliance standards, compliance standard ownership model, Risk Management System, Hazard Identification and Risks Assessment (HIRA), Safety Improvement Planning, Safety Training, etc.)
- Effectively communicates facility safety vision, strategies, and performance to internal and external stakeholders
- Foster an environment where employees understand and exercise their decision rights regarding H&S ensuring the H&S vision is developed and integrated
- Facilitate H&S ownership by the line organization through integration of the H&S Management System
- Drive continuous improvement using tools and activities, including self-assessments and audit processes; incident/near miss investigations; metrics and targets (leading and lagging indicators); and periodic reviews of performance, culture, and talent
- Coach, mentor and develop members of the leadership team(s)
- Own and effectively manage the injury management and workers compensation process
- Design and deliver H&S training programs for employees at all levels
Requirements
- Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Experience using and applying effective safety management systems
- Experience developing regulatory compliance programs and training
- Experience in occupational safety management and ability to apply and achieve demonstrated results
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Demonstrated Leadership Experience
- Certification in H&S (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred
