About the role

Dessert Holdings is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) Professional (Supervisor) to join our team based in Le Center, MN. This role is responsible for the day-to-day safety initiatives in our facility, promoting safety attitudes, safe work practices, and maintaining the EHS program to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental impact.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations by understanding existing and changing laws, interpreting standards, enforcing adherence, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Lead and/or support incident and accident investigations using root cause analysis, reporting, and tracking data.
  • Maintain records of safety-related incidents and administer corrective measures.
  • Collaborate and share best practices with other company facilities to support the execution of initiatives.
  • Review safe work procedures, written reports, and provide recommendations.
  • Perform safety compliance inspections, including hazard analysis and risk assessments.
  • Monitor adherence to the company safety program by all employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Partner with Human Resources in workers compensation management.
  • Understand local incident record-keeping requirements and complete/submit compliance reports (e.g., 300, 300A logs, injury reports).
  • Coordinate the site health and safety committee and ensure compliance.
  • Serve as the point of contact for on-site security.
  • Assist with developing a safety culture at the facility.

Requirements

  • Technical Safety degree or certification, or related education is required.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of occupational health & safety regulations and standards.
  • A professional designation (e.g., CSP, CRSP) is a plus but not required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to influence at all levels and display effective leadership.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated, service- and team-oriented individual with attention to detail and the ability to work with little supervision.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in a production environment for extended periods, including stooping, standing, and bending.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, or bend.
  • Must lift up to 50 pounds; assistance required if limit is exceeded.
  • Must be able to work in a food allergens environment.
  • Exposure to environmental changes (heat, cold, dampness, and chemicals).
