Responsibilities
- Gathers/reviews/distributes safety-related statistical information.
- Maintains site-specific programs/requirements/compliance.
- Recognizes and follows PCL and local legislative requirements.
- Anticipates questions based on experience, knowledge, and understanding of client needs.
- Conceptualizes a completed project or project component (e.g., generator installation process).
- Recognizes behaviors, conditions, and activities that can adversely affect health.
- Interprets simple work sequences.
- Liaises effectively with project and field management.
- Applies basic knowledge of behavioral concepts.
- Interprets, communicates, and reinforces project safety standards to workforce.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Working toward Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related area of study.
- A desire to pursue a career as a HSE professional.
- 18 years of age or older and possesses a valid Driver's License.
- Knowledge of applicable OH&S, environmental legislation and HSE processes.
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to learn construction processes and terminology.
- A strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
- Must be able to navigate through a construction site on a daily basis and climb ladders and stairs.
- Must be able to work around and near heavy equipment, cranes, and other construction equipment.
