Health Policy Director - State Program Administrator Manager Senior

DEPARTMENT: Solid Waste Services/Disposal

HOURS OF WORK

Overall timeframe of Monday – Saturday; 6:30am – 7:00pm.

OPERATION OF HEAVY EQUIPMENT

• Operate heavy equipment such as cherry pickers, compactors, frontend loaders, dozers, graders, sweepers, trucks/trailers.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Prepare in-house reports and perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and three years of experience in the operation of solid waste transfer and disposal facilities or other appropriate work experience to include three years of experience in the operation of heavy motorized construction equipment including at least two of the following types: tractor trailers/tankers, front end loader, landfill compactors, bulldozers, graders, dump trucks, cherry pickers, and backhoes.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with tanker endorsement.
• Completion of eight years of formal education or the equivalent supplemented by experience in manual work and operation of medium duty equipment may substitute for the high school diploma on a year-for-year basis.

NOTICE

If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon the submission of a current copy of the applicant’s Alaska Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with tanker endorsement and a current (dated within 30 days from date requested) copy of his/her Department of Motor Vehicle driving record, including a driving record from previous states if the Alaska Driver’s License was first issued within one year prior to application, documenting an acceptable driving history.

The processing fee(s) are the responsibility of the selected applicant.

As a condition of employment, the person selected will be required to successfully complete a drug test prior to beginning work and will be subject to future periodic drug and alcohol tests on a random basis without advance notice.

If selected for hire, a pre-employment physical will be required to establish the ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.

Current Operating Engineers – Local 302 employees who have been in their current position less than 6 months are required to submit a completed approved 6 Month Waiver Form in order to be considered.

All required certifications and licenses must remain current for the duration of employment.
