Health Planner

About the role

HDR is seeking a Health Planner to join its growing practice. This role is part of a leading health practice at an internationally recognized firm.

Primary Responsibilities

• Facility and departmental planning of health and research facilities
• Aesthetic solution and overall design for large and/or complex projects
• Analyze client needs and develop architectural solutions
• Initiate schematic designs/plans and prepare presentation drawings, models, and narratives
• Coordinate with various engineering disciplines to ensure engineering needs are met
• Represent the firm in business development presentations to prospective clients
• Provide guidance to other designers and work with engineering disciplines during schematic and design development phases

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Architecture
• Architectural registration or in the process of obtaining
• Advanced credentials such as ACHA, LEED, EDAC, etc.
• 10+ years’ experience in healthcare A/E/C industry
• Extensive knowledge and experience in healthcare architecture planning and design
• Leadership and team management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of the local and regional healthcare market
• Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office)
• Willingness to travel

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience in A/E industry
• Strong organizational skills
• Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings, and models
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of buildings
