Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- Aid the Radiation Protection Supervisors in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Radiation Protection team, including reviewing logs and coordinating with other station work groups.
- Develop and maintain Radiation Protection Department and Safety Services procedures.
- Coordinate the implementation of the Station’s Radioactive Waste Management, ALARA, Radioactive Material Control, Dosimetry, Respiratory Protection, and Effluent & Radiological Environmental Programs.
- Maintain and monitor the effectiveness of these programs, producing trend reports as needed.
- Represent Radiation Protection on the Chemical Overview Group (COG).
- Act as Contract Coordinator for various Radiation Protection contracts.
- Support Outage planning by developing and executing radiological support plans.
- Aid in the development and oversight of Radiation Protection training for Technicians and Radiation Workers.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Health Physics or Radiation Protection + 4 years related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree + 6 years related work experience.
- Associates degree in engineering technology, chemistry, radiation protection or related field + 9 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification.
- Navy Nuclear ELT + 9 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification.
- 11 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification (including at least 2 years of Radiation Protection experience).
