Health Physicist, Central RadCon

About the role

At the Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. Our Radiation Protection Programs team is seeking an experienced Health Physicist to support oversight and implementation of the CPCCo Radiological Protection program. This role ensures safe and compliant implementation of 10 CFR 835 while contributing to unique and challenging goals that critically impact our environment and community.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of 10 CFR 835.
• Provide technical support, procedure and technical basis document development, and implementation oversight of one or more program functional areas (ALARA, contamination control, work planning, assessments, instrumentation, emergency preparedness, etc.).
• Ensure assigned policies, procedures, and technical documents effectively implement conduct of operations principles, safety management program components, and radiological control requirements.
• Provide radiological control expertise and coordination for major project activities in support of accomplishing critical milestones.
• Perform work in a safe, compliant, and cost-effective manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Career Level Grade 19: 8 or more years of relevant experience.
• Senior Level Grade 20: 10 or more years of relevant experience.

The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, and impact. The level offered will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.

Qualifications

• American Board of Health Physics certification or member of the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists.
• Direct job-related experience in applied Health Physics or Radiological Engineering.
• Demonstrated program experience in the field of Radiation Protection/Health Physics.

Pay

Expected annualized pay range based on full-time schedule (40 hours per week):

• Career Level Grade 19: $104,200 - $166,650
• Senior Level Grade 20: $114,700 - $183,450

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
