About the Role

This part-time position delivers comprehensive health and nutrition services within early childhood programs, ensuring compliance with Head Start/EHS health standards and federal monitoring requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 45-day and 90-day health screenings for children.
• Track ongoing medical care and educate parents on health needs.
• Ensure safety and compliance in physical environments.
• Oversee meal implementation and coordinate with food vendors.
• Support families' nutritional goals and integrate nutrition lessons into classrooms.
• Provide educational resources on diet and nutrition.
• Act as the school nurse, providing health support for children and staff.

Requirements

• Valid Connecticut RN license (CT DPH).
• Minimum two years of early childhood experience.
• Physical ability to lift children.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Basic computer skills.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
