Health Information Technician -FT, Days

Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, 1701 Lacey Street, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701

Schedule

Full-Time (40 hours per week), Days, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Performs one or more duties assisting with health information management, including but not limited to:
  • Medical record regulatory requirements
  • Data analysis and research
  • Scanning documents
  • Release of information (ROI) or analysis in an acute care setting

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in HIM/medical records or related fields
• Minimum 2-3 years of HIM experience in an acute care medical records department
• Minimum 1 year of experience in ROI or analysis role in an acute care setting
• Working knowledge of medical record regulatory requirements
• Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills
• Basic data analysis and research skills
• Intermediate computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of the health record and EHR terminology

Qualifications

• Highly motivated and organized problem solver
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred
• Scanning documents experience preferred
• Licensure: RHIT or RHIA preferred
