Health Information Systems Technician

We are seeking a contract-to-hire Health Information Systems Coordinator for a guaranteed full-time, 6-month project. This role focuses on specific projects and tasks, ensuring completion while collaborating with additional resources as needed. Secondary responsibilities include day-to-day application and technology troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, maintain, and support Health Information Systems and applications.
  • Drive projects and tasks to completion, pulling in additional resources as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day application and technology issues.
  • Complete required NextGen EHR training within six months of hire.
  • Complete required NextGen ICS, EDR, and EPM training within one year of hire.
  • Maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (obtain within 90 days if not certified upon hire).

Requirements

  • Any combination of post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology, or a related IT field and experience with technical support of medical applications totaling 4 years.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
  • Must pass drug (including THC) and alcohol testing in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation Regulations and SMSC’s Drug/THC and Alcohol Policy.
