Health Information Specialist I
Position Overview
We are seeking a Health Information Specialist to support front desk operations and Release of Information (ROI) services at a single onsite healthcare location. This is a patient-facing role that plays a critical part in ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant handling of medical record requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the front desk point of contact for patient walk-ins requesting medical records or releases
- Provide phone support to patients, providers, and authorized requestors
- Process Release of Information (ROI) requests accurately and timely
- Fax, scan, and manage incoming and outgoing medical record requests
- Burn medical images to CDs and share images electronically as required
- Support client relationship management through professional communication
- Aid in reporting and administrative duties such as data entry and email
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, privacy regulations, and facility policies
Training & Onboarding
- VROI training provided
- On-the-job, onsite training during the first 30 days

- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a patient-facing, front desk environment
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage confidential information
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to multitask and work independently

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Pay & Benefits
Pay ranges for this job title may differ based on location, responsibilities, skills, experience, and other requirements of the role. The estimated base pay range per hour for this role is: $15—$18.32 USD.
Exemptions
To ensure the safety of patients and staff, many of our clients require post-offer health screenings and proof and/or completion of various vaccinations such as the flu shot, Tdap, COVID-19, etc. Any requests to be exempted from these requirements will be reviewed by Datavant Human Resources and determined on a case-by-case basis.
