Job Summary

The Health Information Management Analyst is responsible for assembling and reviewing all inpatient, short stay surgery, rehab, and observation records for accuracy and completeness of documentation. Reports to: Director Health Information Management.

How You'll Contribute

  • Analyzes the medical record for chart completion deficiencies, in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff rules and regulations.
  • Ensures any deficiencies are assigned to the appropriate medical staff member and data is entered for tracking and monitoring purposes.
  • Reviews documentation and updates or clears the deficiencies as appropriate.
  • Answers telephone calls and assists visitors (including but not limited to physicians, patients, and their family members), while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Completes birth and fetal death certificates.
  • Provides state with necessary birth information within state required timeframe, as needed.
  • Performs HIM Tech duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Health Information Technology preferred.
  • Licenses: RHIT or RHIA eligible and Preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months HIM/Medical Records experience - Preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
