Job Description

The Health Information Clerk II performs various tasks to support the processing, maintenance, paper and electronic storage, retrieval, scanning and quality review of electronic medical records in accordance with hospital, state, federal, legal, and ISO standards.

Education And Credentials

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in health related field preferred.
  • One year experience in an acute care Health Information Department or Medical Office.
  • Must successfully complete a clerical skills test.
  • Medical terminology knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience with imaging/scanning/microfilming operations preferred.
  • Required to demonstrate proficiency and experience with personal computers, windows applications, by successfully completing a basic PC skills assessment.
  • Experience with record, document or database management software applications preferred.
