About the role

Purpose Health Informatics (HI) integrates health care science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in clinical practice across the care continuum. Health informatics facilitates the integration of data, information, knowledge, and wisdom to support operations, decision-making, and workflow adoption in all roles and settings. This support is accomplished through information structures, processes, and technology. The goal of informatics is to improve the health of populations, communities, families, and individuals by optimizing information management and communication.

These activities include designing and using informatics solutions and technology to support all areas of health care delivery, such as direct provision of care, establishing effective administrative systems, managing and delivering education experiences, enhancing lifelong learning, and supporting health care research.

Responsibilities

• Researches, collects, and analyzes information to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and lead through resolution.
• Collaborates on performance improvement activities as indicated by outcomes in program efficiency and patient experience.
• Responsible for distribution of analytical reports.
• Utilizes multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials.
• Incorporates knowledge of Trinity Health policies, practices, and processes to ensure quality, confidentiality, and safety.
• Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes and procedures and ability to acquire new knowledge.
• Researches and compiles information to support ad-hoc operational projects and initiatives.
• Synthesizes and analyzes data, providing detailed summaries including graphical presentations illustrating trends and recommending practical options or solutions.
• Leverages program and operational data to define and demonstrate progress, ROI, and impacts.
• Maintains working knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of Conduct, and other policies to ensure adherence.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of Health Informatics through a combination of education and experience.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
• Active and current license for Pharmacist required.
• At least five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience in Health Informatics or a related role, with experience in clinical information systems and health information technology.
• Advanced understanding of clinical treatment modalities, educational principles, clinical information systems, accreditation and regulatory standards, and program development.

Qualifications

• Certification from a national informatics certifying body preferred.
• Fellowship, academic courses, or other formal training in Health Informatics preferred.
• Master’s Degree in Health Informatics or related discipline preferred.
• Background in clinical practice as a pharmacist preferred.

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Indirect/Healthcare Support Services environment with occasional clinical/patient-facing work.
• Continuous work time indoors under temperature-controlled and well-lit conditions; occasional variable external environmental conditions.
• Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds unassisted, frequent travel, and use of a computer.
• Continuous sitting with occasional long periods of walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing.
• Must adapt to frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, and stressful situations.
• Ability to attend to tasks until complete and understand complex ideas and concepts.
• Continuous reading of small print and frequent ability to hear normal sounds and voice patterns.
• Frequent manual dexterity activities and occasional grasping/handling.
• Continuous attention to maintaining a safe working environment and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

$120,446 - $198,736
