Health Fitness Professional (on-call)
About the Role
Join the HealthFitness team in Marysville, Ohio! We're looking for an enthusiastic Health Fitness Professional to provide on‑call/substitute support at our corporate fitness center. If you're passionate about health, wellness, and helping others succeed, we'd love to hear from you.
Flexible 4‑8 hour shifts are available during the following operating hours:
- Monday‑Thursday: 5:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Friday: 5:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Responsibilities
- Supervise the facility; interact with participants and monitor equipment and participant safety.
- Provide individual and group exercise instruction; educate participants on proper techniques to maximize safety and effectiveness.
- Coordinate and lead a variety of HealthFitness and program‑specific health improvement programs & promotions.
- Conduct fitness testing and assessments, advise participants of results, and design individualized programs to meet interests, abilities, and goals.
- Research health & fitness educational topics, identify appropriate participant materials, and conduct health education seminars/presentations.
- Participate in membership drives to acquire new participants; enroll new participants and conduct facility, program, and equipment orientations.
- Promote program offerings and conduct outreach activities to increase participation and re‑engage inactive participants.
- Create and maintain bulletin boards, newsletters, and other marketing & communication materials.
- Coordinate internship program; oversee recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of student interns.
- Other duties as needed/assigned.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher in a fitness‑related field, or 2+ years of industry experience, along with fitness industry certification(s) from a HealthFitness‑approved provider.
- Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certification from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, National Safety Council, or American Safety & Health Institute (required prior to start date).
- Applicants must meet hiring requirements, including but not limited to a pre‑employment drug test.
Pay
The compensation range for this role is $16 – $18 per hour. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant considerations.
