Health Educator - Prenatal Education
Responsibilities
- Provides education to women, families and other professionals in the areas of childbirth, breastfeeding, women’s health and the early postpartum period, parenting, newborn care, wellness and childhood safety/injury prevention or special needs transportation.
- Maintains current knowledge base in these and related areas, and employs a variety of learning methodologies geared toward the pediatric, adolescent and adult client.
- Is a communication link with the client and the health care system.
- Participates actively in the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the program.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited secondary school; 2 years of advanced education in health care, education, or related field required.
- College degree in related field preferred.
- Equivalent work and/or educational experience considered.
Skills
- Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community.
Pay
Pay Range: USD $36.33 - USD $51.96 /Hr.
