About the role

Foundation Communities is a local, homegrown nonprofit providing affordable, attractive homes and free on-site support services for thousands of families with kids, veterans, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. We offer an innovative, proven model that empowers residents and neighbors to achieve educational success, financial stability, and healthier lifestyles. We own and operate 27 apartment communities—24 in Austin and three in North Texas.

Our Health Coverage program is a free service helping community members enroll in affordable health coverage and access healthcare. Volunteers work one-on-one with clients during the federal marketplace Open Enrollment period (November 1 through January 15) to guide them through the online application, inform them about insurance options, and ensure they can take the next steps for using their coverage.
