About the role

This position is located at the West Tennessee Regional Office and requires a criminal background check. You may be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered.

Education and Experience

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Substantial (five or more years of) full-time increasingly responsible professional health program work, including at least one year of full-time supervisory work or statewide program oversight.

Substitution of Education for Experience

Additional graduate coursework in a business or health-related field may be substituted, on a year-for-year basis, for one year of the required nonsupervisory experience.

Substitution of Experience for Education

Additional qualifying professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.

Necessary Special Qualifications

A valid motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Support health educators in building and strengthening community partnerships using collective impact principles.
  • Align state, regional, and local efforts with health council priority goals.
  • Assist councils in identifying and pursuing grant opportunities; stay current on grant cycles and requirements.
  • Manage administrative needs for regional and county health councils, including maintaining and communicating meeting schedules, ensuring bylaw compliance, submitting food invoices, and approving council documentation.
  • Supervise and provide ongoing support to the CHIP Coordinator.
  • Serve as the point person for the 3-year County Health Assessment (CHA) process, providing analytical support and guidance.
  • Support 19 counties, each holding a minimum of 4 health council meetings per year, totaling at least 76 meetings annually.

Driver Standards

State of Tennessee positions that may involve driving responsibilities require candidates to meet the following minimum driver qualifications:

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • For the past five years, the candidate’s driver record must not include: driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than 4 moving violations.
