Responsibilities
- Develop communication materials ready for print or electronic distribution
- Develop presentations and talking points
- Develop communication, outreach, and content management plans
- Produce articles, when needed, for a variety of audiences
- Conduct stakeholder engagement and outreach efforts
- Track successes, engagement, and outreach efforts
- Provide quality assurance reviews on SharePoint, Wiki, and Website content and make updates
- Engage with staff at all organizational levels
- Elicit and document requirements. Create communications deliverable to support requirements
- Ensure plain language and 508 compliance standards are upheld across all material development
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or Public Health. Masters or other advanced degree in relevant discipline strongly preferred.
- Prior federal experience a plus.
- Minimum 5 years’ related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Communicate with tact and diplomacy.
- Plain language and 508 compliance requirements.
- Previous Public Health Experience.
- Strong initiative.
- Ability to adapt and handle ambiguity.
- Ability to problem solve, work independently or as a member of a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Strategic thinking.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365.
