Job Description and Duties

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 1, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, to have their base salary reduced by three percent and receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

About the Role

This position is located in Labor Relations, Performance Management, and Staff Development. Staff in this program are responsible for promoting harmonious labor relations between CCHCS, its employees, and employee organizations; providing management/supervisors with the tools and resources necessary to carry out the state’s progressive disciplinary process; and delivering effective and innovative training to further employees’ professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Promote harmonious labor relations between CCHCS, its employees, and employee organizations
  • Provide management/supervisors with the tools and resources necessary to carry out the state’s progressive disciplinary process
  • Deliver effective and innovative training to further employees’ professional growth
  • Provide statewide guidance and expertise to all levels of management in areas involving employee performance and administration of the department’s disciplinary process impacting mental health, dental, and medical staff at the institutions and within CCHCS
  • Manage extensive travel, approximately 30%

Requirements

  • Under the general direction of the Manager I, Performance Management Unit
  • Responsible for providing statewide guidance and expertise to all levels of management in areas involving employee performance and administration of the department’s disciplinary process impacting mental health, dental, and medical staff at the institutions and within CCHCS

Qualifications

  • Full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 1, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees
  • Permanent intermittent employees based on the number of hours worked in the pay period

Skills

  • Knowledge of state’s progressive disciplinary process
  • Ability to deliver effective and innovative training
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
