Health Care Compliance Analyst

About the role

The Office of Health Care Affordability (OHCA) within the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) seeks a Health Care Compliance Analyst II. OHCA is dedicated to slowing health care spending growth, monitoring health system performance, and assessing market consolidation.

Responsibilities

  • Handle intake, organization, and status tracking of material change notices for health care mergers and acquisitions and associated cost and market impact reviews (CMIR).
  • Draft communications to entities and assist with vendor contract procurement and invoicing for OHCA's economic expert consultants.
  • Support OHCA Compliance with website postings for stakeholders and the general public.
  • Support the OHCA Legal Staff in administrative enforcement proceedings for compliance with data collection and OHCA spending targets.
  • Aid in OHCA’s coordination with the HCAI Legal Office, the Office of the Attorney General, and other state health care regulators.

Requirements

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) hours each month. Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s). These include a bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

Experience with Microsoft Excel, electronic filing systems, and handling large volumes of data under tight deadlines is preferred.

Pay

$6,031.00 - $7,547.00 per month, effective July 1, 2025.

Individuals who are currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, have list or LEAP eligibility, are in the process of obtaining list eligibility, or have SROA and/or Surplus eligibility (please attach your letter, if available). SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply.
