Responsibilities

  • Practice in all phases of general commercial, civil and business litigation matters with a national and international client base.
  • Draft and negotiate sophisticated contracts, including EPC agreements, design-build documents, alternative delivery contracts, supply and purchase agreements, service and engineering agreements, and consulting agreements, for large-scale energy, transportation, and industrial infrastructure projects.
  • Manage due diligence teams, advise on risk allocation, indemnification, insurance, bonding, and other critical commercial terms.
  • Provide legal advice and support to clients in finance transactions, including loan originations and real estate financings.

Requirements

  • Exceptional academic credentials.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and superior writing and analytical abilities.
  • Active membership in the Iowa bar, or eligibility for admission by waiver, is required.
  • Experience in complex commercial litigation, particularly consumer class actions, antitrust litigation, merger and acquisition litigation, securities and shareholder litigation, corporate governance disputes, franchise litigation, contractor classification disputes, real estate financing and development disputes, and/or multi-district or multi-forum litigation.
  • Excellent legal writing skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating sophisticated contracts, including EPC agreements, design-build documents, alternative delivery contracts, supply and purchase agreements, service and engineering agreements, and consulting agreements.
  • Experience leading due diligence teams, managing specialists, and drafting documents.

Qualifications

  • Three to six years of relevant experience.
  • Recent clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience advising on risk allocation, indemnification, insurance, bonding, and other critical commercial terms.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

Skills

  • Excellent legal writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts.
  • Experience in due diligence and advising on risk allocation, indemnification, insurance, and other critical commercial terms.

Benefits

Our in-office work policy asks all attorneys, consulting professionals and paraprofessionals to work from a Faegre Drinker office three days per week, striking a balance between in-person collaboration, relationship-building, and exceptional client service, while also supporting individual flexibility and work-life balance.

Pay

  • Level 2-4: $170,000 - $280,000
  • Level 5-7: $205,000 - $325,000

Schedule

  • All attorneys, consulting professionals and paraprofessionals are asked to work from a Faegre Drinker office three days per week.
