Health Care Associate (3-5 years) – Minneapolis, MN; Kansas City, MO

Lathrop GPM’s Healthcare & Nonprofit Organizations practice group is seeking an associate attorney with 1-4 years of experience to join its expanding health care practice in Minneapolis or Kansas City. About the role

We are looking for an attorney who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and shares our values of collegiality, sharing, and teamwork. As a core member of our healthcare team, you will work alongside others to provide clients with critical guidance on health care transactions and regulatory matters, including structuring and negotiating transactions, offering strategic advice on regulatory and compliance issues, implementing contractual arrangements, and counseling clients on a wide range of legal matters affecting the health care industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structuring and negotiating health care transactions.
• Provide strategic advice on regulatory and compliance issues.
• Implement various contractual arrangements for health care organizations.
• Counsel clients on legal matters affecting the health care industry, including Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, and state privacy laws.

Requirements

• 1-4 years of experience in health care law.
• J.D. and outstanding academic credentials from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Minnesota or Missouri bar.
• Exceptional oral communication, writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to take ownership of projects, work effectively within a team, and communicate directly with clients and third-party advisors.
• Strong interest in health care issues and trends, preferably with a background in legal issues related to provider health care organizations.

Qualifications

• Preferred but not required: a Master's in Public Health, Health Administration, or a related graduate degree.

Pay

The current anticipated salary range is $180,000-$190,000. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range.
