Health Assistant - Bilingual

Job Duties

• Prepares patients for their visit
• Gathers information
• Registers patients
• Prepares medical charts
• Performs point-of-care testing and routine procedures
• Aids providers with more complex procedures
• Makes appointments when necessary
• Ensures smooth patient flow by reviewing the schedule daily, pulling and preparing medical charts, and greeting patients upon arrival
• Prepares patients for their visit by distributing health questionnaires, obtaining medical and/or social history, and checking vital signs and measurements
• Records charges in the electronic health record as needed
• Performs point-of-care testing as required per patient visit (e.g., rapid strep, lead, hct, pregnancy test, blood sugar, HA1C, etc.)
• Performs routine procedures as required per patient visit (e.g., EKG’s, ear lavage, peak flow, vision screening, audiogram, tympanogram, etc.)
• Aids providers with routine and complex procedures (e.g., pap smears, IUD placements, colposcopy, NSTs, minor surgeries, etc.)
