About the Role
As the Health and Wellness Director, you’ll lead the clinical team to ensure exceptional, resident-centered care. You’ll oversee all nursing services, provide supervision and guidance, and maintain compliance with policies, regulations, and Americare’s high standards. Collaborating with other departments, you’ll manage assessments, care plans, and staff development to foster a safe, home-like environment for residents and team members.
This role may also be known as LPN Director of Nursing, Assisted Living Nurse Manager, Memory Care Nurse Leader, Clinical Nurse Supervisor, or Wellness Director.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the clinical supervision and administration of all nursing services
- Implement and maintain nursing objectives, standards, policies, and procedures; revise them as necessary
- Provide clinical guidance to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other care-team members
- Collaborate with community administrators to ensure all staff receive necessary orientation and training
- Conduct regular assessments of residents and ensure all required documentation is up-to-date
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and Americare regulations
- Manage medication systems and ensure they meet regulatory guidelines and resident needs
- Play a key role in quality assurance by maintaining community standards, assisting with inspections, and upholding a safe, home-like environment
Requirements
- Current state LPN license
- Proven track record in nursing leadership, preferably in senior living or long-term care
- Strong clinical knowledge and leadership skills
- Ability to manage both administrative and hands-on aspects of nursing care
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff, administrators, and families
- Passion for senior care and commitment to Americare’s mission
Physical Demands
- Stand, sit, walk, bend, and change positions frequently
- Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist in transferring residents as needed
- Push/pull up to 100 lbs. and maneuver wheelchairs (up to 350 lbs.)
- Assist in lowering residents to the floor during falls
- Use safety equipment, including gait belts and mechanical lifts
- Perform tasks requiring good vision, hearing, and verbal communication
