Health and Safety Specialist

In this hands-on opportunity, you’ll put the vital steps in place to ensure everyone at your location works in a safe and healthy environment, empowering them to feel confident in their roles and motivated to do their best work.
Responsibilities
- Monitor site performance against set KPIs and create plans to improve processes
- Set up workplace health and safety programmes and arrange training sessions
- Analyse safety metrics and incident trends to help colleagues plan appropriate resources for areas with the highest risk
- Carry out audits to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety laws and implement solutions where risks are identified
You’ll be based on location at one of our delivery stations, working closely with people across the business to identify risks, gather data, and develop smarter and safer ways of working. You’ll also set up training and other programmes to help everyone follow new safety processes and reach new standards.
About the team
Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) plays a crucial role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. The team collaborates with managers, associates, and local governments to ensure compliance with Amazon’s policies and legal regulations. There are opportunities within the team ranging from Health and Safety Technicians to Program Managers, all contributing to developing, implementing, and upholding high safety and wellbeing standards. Projects may include equipment and process inspections, assessing processes, and building and equipment design.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent level of qualification in-line with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)
- ASPP or RSPP certified
- Understanding of Italian Environment, Health and Safety legislation
- Advanced proficiency in Italian and English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of Lean, 5S, or Kaizen methodologies
- Experience of planning or managing environmentally conscious initiatives
