Health and Safety Rep
About the role
Clean Harbors in Morrow, GA is seeking a Health and Safety Representative to join their safety-conscious team. This position is responsible for providing health, safety, and environmental advice, promoting a positive safety culture, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Coach supervisory teams to enhance safety responsibilities, performance, and leadership.
- Provide guidance to Company management and employees on compliance with corporate and client safety programs.
- Audit training records to ensure compliance with minimum training requirements.
- Facilitate in-house training programs covering topics like new hire orientation, WHMIS, TDG, CSTS, air-purifying respirator fit testing, etc.
- Maintain safety program administrative records suitable for audit purposes.
- Respond promptly to accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and investigate them in collaboration with management.
- Develop and implement safety device, process, and procedure audits.
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring worker safety is always the top priority.
- Work independently or as part of a team, managing projects and responding to emergencies.
Qualifications
- Willing to work 90% in the field.
- High School diploma or equivalent plus specialized training or 1 year of college.
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a health and safety environment.
- Confined Space Training/Experience.
- Valid Drivers License, TWIC card preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Understanding of employee/employer personal information privacy obligations.
- Excellent listening and customer focus skills.
- Basic safety training skills.
- Knowledge of Federal and State/Provincial safety and health regulations.
- Specialized training COSS (Certified Occupational Safety Specialist) - USA operations NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer).
- MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
- Basic mechanical ability and knowledge of associated safety equipment.
- Broad managerial skills, including the ability to provide recommendations based on legislation, education, training, and industry best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of Federal and State/Provincial Occupational Safety and Health Regulations.

Pay
The posted salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this role. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and business needs. In addition to the base salary, some roles may be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
