Health and Safety Manager , Data Center Health and Safety
About the Role
Join the world-class safety culture at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and be part of supporting the largest cloud computing infrastructure team as a Regional Safety Engineer. You will own the Health and Safety function of your respective area, working closely with data center engineers, security experts, construction managers, and other stakeholders to advance safety culture and protect employees.
Responsibilities
- Implement health and safety standards, policies, and practices, including safety management systems, training, risk assessments, and industrial hygiene assessments.
- Conduct health and safety audits of data centers and active construction sites to ensure compliance with health, safety, and life safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance and implementation of global health and safety programs that exceed regulatory requirements.
- Develop health and safety plans for on-site emergencies, business continuity, and unique events.
- Maintain safety record-keeping and data integrity, performing trend analysis to support business and safety initiatives.
- Consult with the AWS compliance team for interpretations and guidance.
- Identify risks and partner with Operations to remediate via the hierarchy of controls.
- Provide daily health and safety guidance to customers.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of program or project management experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk prevention, or equivalent experience OR 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience handling confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Program requirements definition and experience leveraging data and metrics to drive improvements.
- Professional safety qualification or similar risk/compliance credentials.
- Experience with Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and Excel.
Pay
The base salary range for this position in Clifton, TX, is $66,800.00 - $116,800.00 USD annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Additional benefits include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
