Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Health and Safety Management Systems that are OSHA and locally compliant, effective and align with Resmed’s strategic objectives
- Ensures loss prevention and risk reduction programs are in place to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations
- Develop and implement health and safety change programs; maximize organizational risk resilience through the ongoing development of people, resources, systems and processes; lead change initiatives and foster commitment amongst employees
- Manage the hazard identification and incident reporting / management processes including coordination of incident investigations and developing appropriate mechanisms to minimize risks within the organization
- Monitor health and safety indicators, internal change that may affect health and safety, external development in legislation or best practice and recommend action resulting from this analysis
- Cookordination and management of the integration and continuous improvement of health and safety processes
- Lead and facilitate safety audits, inspections, meetings, and training programs
- Develop and implement strategies and processes that facilitate effective injury and claims management across the duty of care and workers compensation portfolios
- Ensures ongoing management of return to duty (modified/ light duty) programs
- Partners with other management to minimize time away from work due to work related injuries and incidents
- Develop and implement initiatives that foster the health and well-being of employees
- Provides technical expertise and acts as a resource in the preparation of training materials
- Supports monthly employee safety meetings by ensuring that leadership promotes and consistently relays the organization's values and beliefs regarding a safe working environment
- Lead a team of safety professionals to drive safety programs, risk reduction and compliance
Qualifications and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in a technical or safety-related discipline
- 7+ years of Health & Safety Management, Injury Management and Workers Compensation experience
- PREFERRED: Multi distribution or manufacturing site management experience
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or similar certification
- ISO 18001/45001 experience a plus
- CLEAN: Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence experience a plus
