Health and Physical Education Teacher- CCDC Coatesville Campus

About the role

This position involves teaching health classes and developing a physical education program for students with varying physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral challenges, aged K–22 years. The successful candidate should have proven experience in creating a program that motivates student participation as well as a commitment to wellness.

Responsibilities

• Design and direct adaptive physical education classes
• Identify and assess the needs of each student
• Evaluate students' growth through consistent review
• Provide instruction congruent with goals and objectives listed on IEP
• Ensure the health, safety, and general well-being of students
• Function as a member of the IEP team, addressing student needs
• Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other required documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education (required)
• Minor in Special Education OR minimum of 5 years experience working with special education students (preferred)
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level and/or subject (preferred)
• Experience working with children and adolescents with severe and complex behavioral challenges in school, community, or residential settings (preferred)
• Valid PA Instructional Certificate in Health and Physical Education PK-12 (required)

Schedule

7.5 hours a day; 190 days per year (194 in year one; 191 in year two).

Pay

• Instructional I: $62,155 – $89,730/yr
• Instructional II: $64,834 – $93,324/yr
• Master’s Degree: $69,353 – $101,911/yr
• Master’s + 15 credits: $72,740 – $105,924/yr
• Master’s + 30 credits: $74,415 – $107,845/yr

Placement on the salary scale is based on years of experience in a relevant role.
