About the role
This position processes medical cannabis patient applications and provides real-time customer service and technical assistance to patients, applicants, and physicians via telephone and email. Knowledge of the Medical Cannabis Act, as well as the associated regulations and policies, is required.
The role involves reviewing, approving, and, if necessary, rejecting applications for corrections based on regulatory requirements. You will answer a multi-line phone system and communicate with patients, physicians, and staff. Additionally, you will enter data from emailed, mailed, or verbal submissions for patients without access to technology.
Organizing and processing payments received via mail and maintaining detailed payment records are core duties. The position also includes performing administrative and programmatic tasks to support the program.
Responsibilities
- Process medical cannabis patient applications in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide customer service and technical assistance via telephone and email.
- Review, approve, or reject applications for corrections based on the Medical Cannabis Act and associated regulations.

Requirements
Training: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
Substitution: Full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in paraprofessional or responsible clerical work at a level consistent with the work performed by an Office Assistant III, which required application of state and federal laws and/or guidelines, may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.
