Daily Job Duties
- Deliver engaging classroom, virtual, and hands-on safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and management.
- Provide professional consulting services related to OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, DOT, and industry best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive onsite safety, health, and regulatory compliance assessments.
- Prepare detailed written reports identifying hazards, compliance gaps, and practical recommendations for improvement.
- Aid clients with developing and implementing customized safety policies, programs, procedures, and management systems.
- Aid organizations with incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate emergency preparedness activities including tabletop exercises, drills, and emergency response planning.
- Develop technical training materials, presentations, and client-specific safety documentation.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional customer service and responsive communication.
- Prepare consulting proposals, scopes of work, and project plans while managing multiple client projects simultaneously.
- Travel to customer locations throughout the United States as needed (typically 20-25% overnight travel).
Qualifications
- Must reside within a 30-mile radius of the Industrial Safety and Training Services (ISTS) office located in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in occupational safety, environmental health and safety (EHS), safety consulting, risk management, or regulatory compliance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations with working familiarity of ANSI, NFPA, DOT, and other applicable industry standards.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively deliver training and presentations to groups of varying sizes.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Willing and able to travel approximately 20–25% of the time to customer locations throughout the United States.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment and annual drug and alcohol screening, physical examination, and full-face respirator medical evaluation and fit test.
- Ability to perform field work in industrial environments, including walking, climbing ladders, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and working in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
