Duties / Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Gap Analyses and compliance audits against OSHA, MSHA, or ISO 45001 standards for various client sites.
- Develop tailored Safety Management Systems (SMS) that align with a client's specific operational scale.
- Provide specialized technical support, such as overseeing OSHA Grade D breathing air certifications or industrial hygiene monitoring programs.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring deliverables are submitted on time and within the allocated budget.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable business advice.
- Identify "cross-selling" opportunities during site visits (e.g., noticing an environmental need and looping in the EHS department).
- Assist in the development of proposals, scopes of work (SOW), and cost estimates for new consulting engagements.
- Lead high-stakes incident investigations as an objective third party to ensure unbiased root cause analysis.
- Design and facilitate custom safety workshops for client management teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Consulting-Specific Experience: 3–7 years of experience.
- Proven ability to manage "billable hours" and maintain high productivity without direct daily supervision.
- Adaptability: Ability to walk into a new facility and establish credibility with both floor staff and C-suite executives within hours.
- Commercial Awareness: Understanding how safety recommendations impact a client’s bottom line and operational efficiency.
- Technical Writing: Exceptional ability to produce polished, "client-ready" reports that require minimal oversight.
- Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in OHS, Environmental Science, or a related technical field. ASP or CSP certification is highly preferred. OHST or CIH track candidates are also highly valued. Must be comfortable working across different regulatory jurisdictions (State-run OSHA plans vs. Federal).
