Health Aide - IDEA Rundberg (26-27)

Description

The Health Aide provides health services to students, conducts state-mandated screenings, maintains immunization compliance, and manages clinic files. They also promote health education and preventative practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• One-year experience in a health-related position, with preference for experience with school-age children
• Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
• Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid
• State-approved vision, hearing, spinal, and AN screenings certification (preferred)

What You’ll Do

• Provide direct care using professional assessment skills and established protocols.
• Secure medical care for students in emergencies and notify parents.
• Administer medications to students and coordinate screening programs.
• Communicate with various stakeholders and develop Individual Health Plans.
• Collaborate with other professionals on IEPs and assess student health needs.
• Maintain accurate records and request supplies.
• Report potential health and safety hazards and comply with policies.

Professional Development

• Maintain certifications in CNA/RMA, CPR/First Aid, and state-approved screenings.
• Model professional, ethical, and responsible behavior.
