Health Aide - Education Support Professional
About the role
The Health Aide - Education Support Professional will shadow and assist students with day-to-day diabetic health needs, monitor students' diabetic glucose monitors, log student diabetic data, communicate with parents through a text app, and provide low-level diabetic intervention as directed by parents and/or the nurse. The position also involves ongoing communication with parents and the building nurse to ensure students remain in the classroom or student activities.
Responsibilities
- Shadow and assist students with day-to-day diabetic health needs
- Maintain and monitor students' diabetic glucose monitors
- Log student diabetic data
- Communicate with parents through a text app
- Provide low-level diabetic intervention as directed by parents and/or nurse
- Ongoing communication with parents and building nurse
Requirements
- Associates degree preferred (not required)
- Medical training/background preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Observational attention to detail
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
