Responsibilities
- Establish a healing and professional relationship with residents.
- Transports residents to various appointments and activities.
- Affords assistance to residents in identifying their personal interests, goals, and strengths.
- Demonstrates understanding of ethics and boundaries.
- Affords assistance in problem-solving.
- Maintains resident's records, program records, and other material as required.
- Utilizes active listening techniques and motivational interviewing when communicating with residents.
- Identifies barriers to full participation in community resources and develops strategies to overcome these barriers with mental health and/or recovery.
- Utilizes trauma-informed care and is willing to share personal experiences with mental health and/or recovery.
- Provides resources to help with residents' needs.
- Provides support and advocates for clients.
Requirements
- Achieved and maintained absolute sobriety for a minimum of two (2) continuous years.
- A High School diploma or equivalent required.
- A valid, clean driver’s license and be at least 18 years of age.
- CPR certification and WI Peer Support training will be provided and as is required as a condition of employment.
- Successfully passed all applicable background checks and drug screens.
- FCP complies with all CDC vaccine and testing recommendations for healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- One year’s work experience in halfway house, residential facility, or similar setting with AODA and mental health population preferred.
