Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities

The Health Equity Across the Lifespan Laboratory at the VCU School of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to support research projects focused on reducing cancer among underserved populations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Screening and enrolling participants
  • Conducting assessments
  • Providing information and performing smoking cessation counseling
  • Completing follow-up calls
  • Mailing study materials
  • Training to become a certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Strong active listening and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and precise in following instructions
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a research team
  • Experience conducting tobacco-related health disparities research
  • Familiarity with cultural practices, traditions, or community issues in Black or African American communities
  • Experience working with virtual meeting platforms like Zoom and WebEx
  • Experience serving Black or African American communities
  • Knowledge of tobacco, nicotine, or related addictions
  • Experience facilitating group discussions

Salary Range

$55,000 - $60,000 Commensurate with experience
