About the role
The Pin Production Specialty Level III (Hederman) maximizes efficiency through the process of set-ups and operations of two or more header machines for the manufacture of all types of bolts and special products launch for new or revised products. Processes methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.

Monday - Thursday: 2:30pm - 1:00am
Responsibilities
- Proficiently sets-up, operates, and maintains 2 or more header machines according to detail blueprints, specifications, work orders, and instructions.
- Selects and obtains proper material and tooling for the job. Checks tooling and has rework done as needed to manufacture part to print specification.
- Operates header machines to manufacture various types of fasteners.
- Maintains correct dimensions of parts while running the job using measuring instruments such as micrometers, comparators, calipers, and gauges; inspects completed parts to ensure they meet blueprints/specifications.
- Productivity on both machines (which run concurrently) is consistently maintained at performance standards associated with daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs.
- Assists and trains less qualified machine operators as needed. Recognizes improper machine functioning and makes required adjustments.
- Able to identify, perform, and troubleshoot heading operations in manufacturing for improved quality and tooling life.
- Represents Pins manufacturing on cross-functional teams or in-house committees.
- Conducts or assists with peer development training per established departmental requirements as needed.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Demonstrates technical knowledge and experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and using shop and measuring tools.
- Demonstrates ability to perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks per specification, Mastercam (CAM software), and acts in accordance with output; demonstrates knowledge and use of Shop Floor Systems.
- Adheres to all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, practices, and procedures.
- Attends all training provided and adheres to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements and safe operating procedures.
- Brings any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.

- Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department, such as recycling opportunities to eliminate production waste.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Working experience in a fastener manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of heading machinery and procedures.
- Working knowledge of quality and SPC.
- A minimum of 6 years equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend correspondence and basic technical procedures.
- Ability to write basic reports and instructions to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and standard units of measurements).
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and follow instructions in written and basic diagram formats. Ability to perform and apply different problem-solving techniques, handle internal/external situations, and multi-task functions.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word; SPC, and departmental applications (Shop Floor System).
- Evidence of “US person” is required under ITAR.
